Input on New Superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools

The Fairfax County school system is conducting a search for a replacement of the outgoing Superintendent of Schools.  A search firm has been retained.

Community members have been invited to respond to a survey about what’s important in selecting the next Superintendent.  Responses are anonymous.  The survey includes multiple-choice questions and also a box for narrative comments.  I have responded.  Here is the text of the narrative part of my response:

The current School Board is going off the rails, focusing on left-wing ideology.  It caters to leftist groups and doesn’t seem to care about the majority of people, who don’t want our schools politicized.  I think it is important for the next Superintendent to be a person who focuses on quality of teaching the 3 Rs, etc.; someone with good “midwestern” values, so to speak, not someone who buys into every “woke” program that gets proposed.
